The Publication History of “The Lord of the Rings”

 – As Told in Animation.

This segment from the feature documentary RINGERS: LORD OF THE FANS tells the story of the initial publication of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “THE LORD OF THE RINGS” books. With tongue-in-cheek writing and Monty Pythonesque cut-out animation, this clip illustrates why RINGERS was the audience award runner-up at the Slamdance Film Festival and won the “Outstanding Achievement in Documentary Film” award at the Newport Beach Film Festival.

The animation was created by Kevin Gralewski and is narrated by Dominic Monaghan. Character voices provided by producers Danny Lukic, Clifford Broadway, Josh Mandel and Carlene Cordova. Music by Frederic Chopin.
